Adding a Salesforce Chatter Bot

Kore.ai provides integration for a built-in Salesforce Chatter Bot that you can use to display message notifications and execute tasks directly from the Kore.ai application. To use the Salesforce Chatter Bot, you just need to add the Bot to your Kore.ai account, and then configure the settings for the Bot, such as authentication to access Salesforce Chatter, and the notification messages that you want. This topic describes the Salesforce Chatter built-in Bot for Kore.ai. For more information about other Kore.ai Bots, see Adding Bots.

About the Kore.ai Bot for Salesforce Chatter

DIYChatterLogoSalesforce Chatter is a real–time enterprise collaboration Software–as–a–Service that is as easy to use as Facebook. You can get real–time updates on what your colleagues are doing, important projects, deals, application data and accounts. More than a collaboration software application—Salesforce Chatter is also a platform for building collaborative cloud-computing applications.

Integration Type Web Service – Connect to this Bot using a web service integration where Kore.ai polls the service for updates based on a specified interval.
Category Customer Relationship Management (CRM) – This Bot is available in the Kore.ai application in the CRM category.

Configuring Salesforce Chatter

To configure web service tasks, you need to add the Salesforce Chatter Bot from the Kore.ai Marketplace tab in the Kore.ai application, and then setup the task.
To setup a Salesforce Chatter task, click Connect to Salesforce Chatter, enter the Salesforce Chatter URL for your company, for example, https://salesforce.com/in/chatter, your Salesforce Chatter account user name, your password, and then press Enter.
After you are connected, you can perform tasks for Salesforce Chatter directly from the Kore.ai application and setup message notifications to get notified in the Kore.ai application when an event occurs in Salesforce Chatter.
The Salesforce Chatter task that you can integrate with Kore.ai is Post in Chatter Feed. To configure this task, in the Perform Task dialog, enter the Text you want to Post in your Chatter Feed.
You can also setup message notifications to your Kore.ai account using a Salesforce Chatter web service. To configure the New Post in Feed message notification, click , click Get notified when…,and then in the Setup Task dialog:

  • optionally customize the Task Name
  • optionally customize the Short Description
  • enable or disable Mute task notifications
  • optionally customize the interval for message notifications in the Check for updates… section

In a space room, you can enter the @chatter post Bot command to invoke and configure the task.

Next Steps

After Salesforce Chatter is configured as web service, when any of the events occur in Salesforce Chatter, a message is displayed on the Bots tab in the Messages section for the Kore.ai account.
