You can use channels for various purposes such as notifying users of important updates, delivering alerts, or sending data to users.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By default, the Process App supports three channels. They are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Email<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bot<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">API<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h4><b>Configure an Email Channel<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To configure an email channel, follow the below steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click the <\/span><b>Settings <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tab on the top.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By default, the <\/span><b>General Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> page is displayed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the left pane, click <\/span><b>Channels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the Channels page, select <\/span><b>Email<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the Email window, you can configure the email based on the <\/span><b>type <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">selected.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you select <\/span><b>Default<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, then enter an email address in the <\/span><b>Default Email<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> field.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you select <\/span><b>Custom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, then you must set up a custom email. Under the <\/span><b>Setup SMTP<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> section, enter the following details:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Server Name &#8211; Enter the server name<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Port Number &#8211; Enter the port number of the server<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sender Email Address &#8211; Enter the email address of the sender<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Username &#8211; Enter the user name of the server<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Password &#8211; Enter the password for authentication<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">TLS Encryption &#8211; Enable TLS Encryption for security purposes. It is recommended to enable this option. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h4><b>Configure a Bot Channel<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To configure a bot channel, follow the below steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click the <\/span><b>Settings <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tab on the top.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By default, the <\/span><b>General Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> page is displayed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the left pane, click <\/span><b>Channels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the Channels page, select <\/span><b>Bot<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the Bot window, you can select the following settings:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Bot <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Select a bot from the drop-down list.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Channel <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Select a channel from the drop-down list.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Instructions <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; To configure a bot as a delivery channel, you must associate the process app with the bot. <\/span><b>Slack <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and <\/span><b>MS Teams<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are the only channels supported. You can find the instructions to configure them.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h4><b>Configure an API Channel<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You must configure an API channel to deliver notifications, messages, alerts, and fetch users and user groups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To configure an API channel, follow the below steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click the <\/span><b>Settings <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tab on the top.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By default, the <\/span><b>General Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> page is displayed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the left pane, click <\/span><b>Channels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the Channels page, select <\/span><b>API<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the API window, you must define the following settings:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Channel Configuration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#8211; Define an API request to use the API channel to deliver notifications, messages, and alerts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Get Users and Groups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#8211; Define an API request to fetch user(s) and group(s) from the API channel for notifications, alerts, tasks, etc. This is optional. But if the API is given during the assignment configuration, the users&#8217; list appears in the suggestive recipients&#8217; list as the user types the email addresses, and the system checks for matching records and provides them in the suggestive list.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A channel is a line of communication between your process app and its users.
