This dialog builder allows you to build the dialog tasks in one of the following three ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using the conversation first approach, <a href=\"\/docs\/bots\/bot-builder-tool\/bot-creation\/conversation-builder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">refer here for details<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Drag and drop nodes from the panel onto the dialog builder, <a href=\"#Drag_and_drop\">refer below<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Directly from the dialog builder, <a href=\"#Dialog_Canvas\">refer below<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Drag_and_drop\"><\/span>Drag and drop<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You can add nodes within the dialog task, by dragging the node from the panel to the designated place in the dialog task. For more information, see the corresponding component types of documentation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bot_Action_Nodes\"><\/span>Bot Action Nodes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Note: This node was introduced in v9.0 of the platform as a container for Service, Script, etc nodes.<\/p>\n<p>Bot Action nodes include the following nodes which need processing by the bot without user interaction:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Service Node<\/li>\n<li>Script Node<\/li>\n<li>Logic Node<\/li>\n<li>Webhook Node<\/li>\n<li>Process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To access these above-mentioned nodes follow the below steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Add Bot Action node in the respective position<\/li>\n<li>Click the expand (<strong>+<\/strong>) button next to the bot action node<br \/>\n<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210708122554\/dialogTask_botActionExpand.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28444\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210708122554\/dialogTask_botActionExpand.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"538\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>The nodes panel will be replaced with the Bot Action Nodes panel<br \/>\n<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210708122636\/dialogTask_botActionNodes.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28447\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210708122636\/dialogTask_botActionNodes.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"318\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Add any node from here, using either the\u00a0+ or drag and drop<br \/>\n<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210708122707\/dialogTask_botActionService.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28450\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210708122707\/dialogTask_botActionService.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"666\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Nodes inside the bot action node cannot be connected directly to any node outside the bot action.<\/li>\n<li>For the nodes inside the bot action node, the following connections can be configured:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Node Connections<\/strong> &#8211; this option can be used to define the connection rules connecting to nodes within the bot action node. It can be configured to:\n<ul>\n<li>any node within the corresponding bot action node;<\/li>\n<li>Not Connected;<\/li>\n<li>End of Bot Action &#8211; this would take the bot flow to the node connected to the bot action node;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bot Action Connections<\/strong> &#8211; this option can be used to define the connection rules connecting to a node outside of the current Bot Action. If <strong>Variable Namespace<\/strong> is enabled for the bot, you can see an additional <strong>Manage Variable Namespaces<\/strong> option.<br \/>\n<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210709110752\/dialogTask_builderOptions.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28468\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210709110752\/dialogTask_builderOptions.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"243\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Display_Options\"><\/span>Display Options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You can use <strong>Display Options<\/strong> to reduce unnecessary node information and better utilize screen real estate.<br \/>\nYou can show or hide some or all node types, node details, or connection details displayed in the Dialog Builder.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Show All<\/strong> to show all the node information.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hide Node Type<\/strong> to remove the node name.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hide Node Details<\/strong> to remove node descriptions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hide All<\/strong> to show only basic node information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Zoom_Controls\"><\/span>Zoom Controls<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Zoom Options <\/strong>are used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fit to Page<\/strong> &#8211; Resizes Dialog Builder components and connections to fit within the display screen resolution for a single, non-scrolling page.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reset Zoom<\/strong> &#8211; Resets zoom settings to actual size.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional <strong>Zoom Option<\/strong> controls are available at the bottom-left of the Dialog Task builder shown in the following illustration.<\/p>\n<p><a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210709111554\/dialogTask_builderZoom.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28471\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210709111554\/dialogTask_builderZoom.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"303\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dialog_Settings\"><\/span>Dialog Settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>Dialog Settings<\/strong> dialog allows you to modify the dialog task basic settings, and if desired, set the visibility of a dialog to create a hidden dialog task that is available for use, but not shown as a bot task.<br \/>\n<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210709111827\/dialogTask_builderSettings.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28474\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/kore-wordpress\/developer.kore.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/20210709111827\/dialogTask_builderSettings.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"653\" height=\"763\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAdd or modify the following settings for each dialog:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Name<\/strong> &#8211; The name of your dialog task, usually the main user intent. For example, <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Pay Bills<\/span>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Description<\/strong> &#8211; An optional description of your dialog task displayed in Bot Builder.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Options<\/strong> &#8211; Specify the behavior of this dialog task to the end-user:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sub intent only dialog<\/strong> &#8211; Task is invoked only as a sub-task when another task is in progress. The task is not presented as a bot task when the user requests help.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hide from help<\/strong> &#8211; Task is not presented as a bot task when the user requests for help. Users can invoke this task anytime while talking to the bot. Note this option is selected automatically when the previous option is selected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Follow-up Task<\/strong> &#8211; Follow-up task array contains all the intents detected from user utterances from this dialog. You can either:\n<ul>\n<li>Handle the follow-up tasks as part of node connections (default setting), or<\/li>\n<li>Let the user select the follow-up task.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Task Execution Failure<\/strong> &#8211; Define bot behavior when there is an error in task execution. It can be set as either:\n<ul>\n<li>Same as the Bot Level behavior<\/li>\n<li>Specific to this task &#8211; initiate a task, run script, or show a message.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Troubleshooting\"><\/span>Troubleshooting<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A real-time set of errors and warnings are available as you define your dialog task located on the top-right of the Dialog Builder.
