Some examples of PII include Social Security numbers, email addresses, credit card numbers, passport numbers, home addresses, and so forth.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"w-post-elm post_content vc_custom_1628846596789\">\n<div id=\"wtr-content\" data-bg=\"#FFFFFF\" data-fg=\"#009dab\" data-width=\"3\" data-mute=\"\" data-fgopacity=\"0.5\" data-mutedopacity=\"0.5\" data-placement=\"top\" data-placement-offset=\"0\" data-content-offset=\"0\" data-placement-touch=\"top\" data-placement-offset-touch=\"0\" data-transparent=\"\" data-touch=\"\" data-non-touch=\"1\" data-comments=\"0\" data-commentsbg=\"#ffcece\" data-location=\"page\" data-mutedfg=\"#009dab\" data-rtl=\"\">\n<section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_auto width_full\">\n<div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\">\n<div class=\"g-cols vc_row type_default valign_top\">\n<div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>Kore.ai allows you to redact any sensitive information that users share with your bots. When you enable redaction for an information type, you can transform its value into a pattern that doesn\u2019t contain comprehensible data. Any end user input that matches the PII pattern gets redacted by the platform in the context object, chat logs, and all other places.<\/p>\n<p>There are a few scenarios where the original value can be used to achieve the business needs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If a PII value is used in Dialog Task transitions, the platform automatically uses the original value for the transition condition evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>If a PII value is used in the Service Node definition, the platform uses the redacted value by default to make the service calls. You can choose to send the original data using the \u2018De-identification of PII data\u2019 configuration of the Service Node. Refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.kore.ai\/docs\/bots\/bot-builder-tool\/dialog-task\/working-with-the-service-node\/\">Service Node\u00a0<\/a>post for more details<\/li>\n<li>You may use the Redaction of PII Data configuration of the Entity Nodes to present the original values of an redacted entity value to the users. Refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.kore.ai\/docs\/bots\/bot-builder-tool\/dialog-task\/working-with-the-entity-node\/\">Entity Node<\/a>\u00a0post for more details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The platform provides the following three modes to redact specified information types:<\/p>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th>OPTION<\/th>\n<th>DESCRIPTION<\/th>\n<th>EXAMPLE<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Redaction<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Replaces the data with a unique random alphanumeric value<\/td>\n<td>An email address entered gets replaced with a random value such as\u00a0<i>jjh4ezb2<\/i><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Replacement<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Replaces the data with a static value that you enter in the PII Redaction settings.<\/td>\n<td>If the static value entered is\u00a0<i>asdf1234<\/i>, any email address entered is replaced with\u00a0<i>asdf1234<\/i><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Mask with Character<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Replaces the first few and last few characters of the data with \u2018+\u2019 or \u2018#\u2019 symbols.
