The Exclude Document stage in\u00a0Index Pipeline<\/a> allows you to drops all the documents that match the specified condition. The excluded documents are ignored in the next stages of the index pipeline and hence will not be indexed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ensure\u00a0 to Train your app<\/strong> each time you make changes to any index configuration. This builds the index based on the updated configurations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

<\/span>Configuration<\/span><\/h2>\n

To configure a exclude document stage, follow the below steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Click the <\/span>Indices <\/b>tab on the top.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. On the left pane, under the <\/span>Index Configuration<\/b> section, click <\/span>Workbench<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. On the Workbench (Index Configuration) page, on the <\/span>Stages <\/b>column, click the <\/span>+<\/b> icon.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. On the right column, select <\/span>Exclude Document<\/b> from the <\/span>Stage Type<\/b> drop-down list.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Enter a name in the <\/span>Stage Name<\/b> field.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Enter a condition in the\u00a0Condition\u00a0<\/b>field. You can add multiple conditions using the AND\/OR connectors. Documents that contain the field mentioned in the condition will be excluded as part of the stage. See below for details<\/a>.
    \nNOTE: It is mandatory to add conditions for defining the Exclude Document stage.<\/li>\n
  7. Click\u00a0Simulate<\/b> to verify the configurations. The simulator displays the Source and the number of documents to which the mapping was applied, and the result. You can change the Source (if not mentioned in the condition) and the number of documents.<\/li>\n
  8. Once done, click\u00a0Save Configuration<\/b>\u00a0on the top-right.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>

    <\/span>Conditions<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

    Condition is of the following format:\u00a0ctx.fieldtype==value<\/code>\u00a0or\u00a0ctx.fieldtype!=value<\/code>. The\u00a0field_name<\/em>\u00a0can be obtained from the Fields table under Index Configuration.<\/p>\n

    For example,\u00a0ctx.contentType==\"web\"<\/code>\u00a0to restrict the extraction to the content from a web source.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
