<\/span>Introduction<\/span><\/h3>\n

SearchAssist allows you to add, delete and manage fields to customize index configurations. Field properties created here are used in creating the search index schema.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you extract a web page, document, or add an FAQ manually, SearchAssist automatically generates the corresponding fields and adds them to the <\/span>Fields<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also add more custom Fields to this default list of fields.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can make changes in the field properties for multiple purposes such as assigning weights, creating facets, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

To add a field, take the following steps:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Click the\u00a0Indices\u00a0<\/b>tab on the top.<\/li>\n
  2. On the left pane, under the\u00a0Index Configuration<\/b>\u00a0section, click\u00a0Fields<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  3. On the Fields page, click\u00a0+ Add Field<\/b>\u00a0on the top-right.<\/li>\n
  4. In the Add Field dialog box, enter a name in the\u00a0Field Name\u00a0<\/b>field.<\/li>\n
  5. Select a field type from the\u00a0Field Type\u00a0<\/b>dropdown list.
