Activating a facet will apply all the associated filters for that facet based on the field values and counts. The results are displayed prioritizing the facet applied.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SearchAssist allows you to add, configure and manage facets for your Search Assistant. You can mark any indexed field as a facet. Enabling a facet allows the search user to view the filters associated with it and also get a count of matched results in the filter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The end-user gets the ability to apply multiple filters simultaneously to narrow down the search results closer to user requirements. These filters fine-tune the search results and categorize listings without the need to scroll through unnecessary lengths.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, in an eCommerce search, options to select the price range for the product <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to filter the results based on the color of the product are provided. Items with the specified color in the given price range are listed in the sought order of ascending or descending value of the pricing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SearchAssists\u00a0 allows you to define two types of facets:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Range Facet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is used for filtering attributes that have a predefined range of values such as price, age, etc. It returns the result withins the selected range. For example, on an e-commerce website, you can apply <\/span><b>Range Facet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to show all smartphones in the range of $1000 to $20000<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Value Facet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is used for filtering attributes that are treated as labels such as colors, gender, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Configure both single-select and multi-select facets. The multi-select facet allows you to customize whether a user can select only a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">single or multiple parameters<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a filter. With a simple drag and drop operation in the build <\/span><b>Facets <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">right window pane customize the order in which the filters are applied and displayed in the search UI<\/span><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"w-post-elm post_title entry-title\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Adding_Facets\"><\/span>Adding Facets<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"w-post-elm post_content\">\n<section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_auto width_full\">\n<div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\">\n<div class=\"g-cols vc_row type_default valign_top\">\n<div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>To add facets, take the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<b>Indices\u00a0<\/b>tab on the top.<\/li>\n<li>On the left pane, under the\u00a0<b>Search Configuration<\/b>\u00a0section, click\u00a0<b>Facets<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>On the Facets page, click\u00a0<strong>+<\/strong><b>Add Facets<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>In the Add Facet dialog box, in the\u00a0<b>Field Name<\/b>\u00a0field, search for a field and select it.<\/li>\n<li>Enter a name in the\u00a0<b>Facet Name<\/b>\u00a0field.<\/li>\n<li>Select the type from the\u00a0<b>Facet Type<\/b>\u00a0dropdown as either\u00a0<i>Range<\/i>\u00a0or\u00a0<i><i>Value.<\/i><\/i><a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3449 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2-300x262.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2-300x262.png 300w, https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2.png 791w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>For the Value type facet, you can further customize the user experience by configuring the following details:\n<ul>\n<li>Enter maximum number of facet values to be provided for user selection under\u00a0<b>Facet Size<\/b>.<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2_facet-size.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3450 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2_facet-size.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"284\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Facet values to be provided\u00a0<b>Sort by<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Ascending or Descending value of\u00a0<b>Count<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Ascending or Descending value of\u00a0<b>Label<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>For the Range type facet, you can further customize the user experience by configuring the following details:\n<ul>\n<li>Optional\u00a0<b>Range Name<\/b>, if not provided, then the range is displayed as the name for the user<\/li>\n<li><b>From<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>To<\/b> values to be provided to the user for selection<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2_range.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3451 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2_range-300x265.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2_range-300x265.png 300w, https:\/\/multisite.korebots.com\/SearchAssist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2022\/01\/MI_SC_facets2_range.png 788w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>You can add multiple ranges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the\u00a0<b>Multi-Select<\/b>\u00a0toggle to allow the user to select multiple facets values.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Add<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dynamic_Facets\"><\/span><span id=\"Dynamic_Facets\" class=\"ez-toc-section\">Dynamic Facets\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Dynamic Facets built-in capability enables the\u00a0 Search Assistant to detect the facets from the user\u2019s live search query and automatically applies appropriate filters suitable for that query. In response to the query the appropriate personalization is done to the display of results. Dynamic facets depend on structured data like product catalogs in CSV or JSON formats.<\/p>\n<p>The pre-existing facets, if any, will have precedence and priority over\u00a0 the dynamic facets. The business user or the search engineer has to identify which fields are to be considered for dynamic faceting when uploading the structured data.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Manage_Facets\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manage Facets<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SearchAssist provides the following features in the Facets list view page:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Search<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for a given Facet by name.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Filter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the Facets on Type, Selection criteria, and Status.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Edit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>Delete <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a Facet using the edit\/delete icons.
